I had a family of pigeons, mostly Jansen x Van Loon sort of things. They were either blue chequer or blue bars. There were also a few dark chequers of the Van Wanrooy X Van de Wegens.

Now I have a " new look".

I have a lot of Jos Thone' pigeons which are throwing all sorts of colours.

These are some of the second round of babies. They are like liquorice allsorts.

But, in the background, there are some sprinting things which are throwing perfect blues... ;)

Very nice Muzza, I particularly like the Blue Chequer top right and Dark Checker bottom right. I have to say it doesn't matter how I breed and how many colours I have during the year I still seem to end up with primarily Blues/blue chequers by the end of the year.

Yes ,Trev, that's the problem with these pretty coloured ones. They are first targets for the hawks. I don't expect to have all of them for very long.

Yet the raptor enthusiasts still insist the falcons are endangered. There was a picture of a city falcon and brood of youngsters on a ledge in a newspaper recently. The falconist told the idiot reporter that they are 'rare', and the journalist dutifully wrote that.

Rare? There are thousands of them.
