We worry too much

Like most of us, I am a bit too soft when it comes to the youngsters. I like to see them eating and drinking in the nest box and be well feathered under the wing before weaning. Last thing at night I go around with a tin of food and a spoon, putting one last scoop of grain in the bowls, just to make sure.
When they start venturing out I like to be there, just in case they get a fright or something.
I worry too much.
Yesterday afternoon my wife called me in half a panic, the loft door was open and there were pigeons everywhere. Oops.
There's a bunch of babies in there just weaned, some are not strong on the wing yet. But there was nothing I could do, so I asked her to open the sputnik so they could go in and out, and open the little stock shed as well. That way the little ones could go back in there if they wanted. There's a few babies in the stock shed that are not weaned.
When I got home there were pigeons all over the place. Babies all over the garden, pigeons on the TV aerial, pigeons everywhere
I just carried on as usual, cleaned out and changed the water, and come feed time everything was in and more or less where they should have been.
They were fine.
Like I say, I worry too much.
