I think Longhouse Poet is well the best horse in the race, if he stays on his feet, he wins.
Noble Yeats and Galvin the obvious threats.

Not had a look at the horses this year, I usually do and I do sometimes put a bob or two on a couple. I used to back a real outsider and one around the 20/1 with an each way bet, never bothered backing anything under 10/1. I have won a few quid over the years.
The going is going to be quite heavy today I would think so is going to make even tougher. Just hope all horses get home safely with no casualties

One of our members had a horse running at Aintree. I don’t think it was in the national though.
I see very sadly that 1 horse died/was put down in the race.

It is always sad when a horse is so badly injured that they have to be put down. But out of the hundreds that raced over the meeting, it is a tiny proportion.

His name was Dream Alliance, and it was an amazing story, how a horse born and raised on an allotment went on to win the Welsh Grand National.
It was also a telling story of human nature. Envy, jealousy, revenge........
