There not even really club races George as the only competition is within the same loft. How is that bird any better than blue no64 from Buster who had 8 club races, was first bird from 2 of them and was 31st combine against 1532 birds from 86 lofts in one and 19th combine against 405 birds from 44 lofts in the other? Or the mealy no22, also from Buster, who from the 8 races was first bird 3 times where club sent , 185, 106 & 273 birds in the club and 1421, 821 & 1789 birds in the combine. I know which ones I would rather be breeding from.George and Morgan wrote: ↑Thu Oct 12, 2023 7:04 pm it only started with 400 birds Andy no better than 4 club races
I’m sure your own birds aren’t that bad George. But that is all we should be trying to do, improve what we have. You don’t have the opportunity to test the birds yourself so have to rely on these OLR to do it for you. Although I think that there are a lot better birds out there than those from the OLR’s at least at the end of the final all birds are up for grabs. Anyone racing themselves won’t be giving away or selling their better birds. These they will use themselves to improve what they have.George and Morgan wrote: ↑Fri Oct 13, 2023 8:32 am thanks Andy but i bought 3 and was gifted 3 will bred of these olr birds also have 4 from last year see if there any better than my own birds they can't be any worse
