Mark has 7 from 10. Unbelieveable performance. The Sheffield bird is a strain maker.

He has clocked an eighth.

Our fellow club members Dave & John Staddon timed one of their 2 entries yesterday evening winning 1st West section and at present the only bird back over this side of the country.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.
Congratulations to them
Sadies Lofts home of decent birds just a useless loft manager, and now a confirmed loser but proud

Yes I see that, what an excellent achievement
Rumour has it that his winner is already being paired to his Pau National winner, both birds having finished 6th International in their respective races.
When you look at this result there are some incredible performances from some outstanding birds and fanciers, Kevin Foster getting another at 734 miles for one.
Among the regular names of course are G M Preece and son having now clocked 22 birds, we have a couple of members in our club who know this partnership well and apparently their 3rd bird is a seven year old flying this race for his 5th time. The other incredible thing about these birds is that this is their first race of the season and in a few weeks time they will be heading for Perpignan.
Local man Dave Farr clocked 3 well done to him too.

Going back to Mark's winner, I know this race had all the makings of a history maker as the conditions were perfect for something making it to the UK on the day with the wind on their tails but for this bird to fly an average of 40mph for just under 16hrs is still one hell of an achievement. I really must look at what I'm feeding and what is motivating my birds lol

The other interesting thing is that in preparation for this race all Mark's birds were paired up and raced natural

She was sitting on a 5 day old baby as wellTrev wrote: βMon Jul 10, 2023 9:30 pm Going back to Mark's winner, I know this race had all the makings of a history maker as the conditions were perfect for something making it to the UK on the day with the wind on their tails but for this bird to fly an average of 40mph for just under 16hrs is still one hell of an achievement. Didn't know that mate, there was a very successful fancier in the Worthing club years ago who Andy will remember well, Russell Broad who always liked to race his distance hens feeding babies.Buster121 wrote: βMon Jul 10, 2023 10:00 pmShe was sitting on a 5 day old baby as wellTrev wrote: βMon Jul 10, 2023 9:30 pm Going back to Mark's winner, I know this race had all the makings of a history maker as the conditions were perfect for something making it to the UK on the day with the wind on their tails but for this bird to fly an average of 40mph for just under 16hrs is still one hell of an achievement.
