It's my Granddaughter's 1st birthday today some were going to see the family this afternoon at some point. I try not to work Fridays anymore so after Lisa left for work I basketed up all 43 of my babies for a trainer. I had 33 that have had 1 or 2 trainers from 10 miles, these were basketed to be taken to Alfold which is about 20miles to me. The remaining 10 youngsters (2 of which were injured on their 1st outing) were basketed to go to Billingshurst around 12 miles.
I borrowed our Mums car and took her along too for the ride to Alford and the birds 33 were let go at 9.40 am. On the way home the other 10 were liberated from Billingshurst around 12miles at 10am.
I arrived home just before 10.30am to find 29/33 already home, all but 4 of them already in the loft. I had the first one of the 10 from Billingshurst turn up at 11, this is one that was injured in my first trainer.
I have had birds dropping in throughout the day/evening and at night fall have 32/33 home from Alford and 9/10 home from Billingshurst so a pretty good result in the end. At least now all my youngsters have had a trainer Injust need to decide how many more trainers I want to get in before our first race next weekend πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”

The simple answer is as many as you can. You cannot give youngsters too much education. :D
And I was wondering how your Mum is, Trev. It's been several years since you had that family gathering. I hope she is well.
Greetings from the land down under. :D

Bless you Murray, she you are right mate it's been 4 years since we all got together for Mum's 80th birthday, she is doing well thanks. She is definitely slowing down and finding certain tasks more difficult, she still goes for a walk on the beach most mornings, goes swimming on a Wednesday morning and plays bowls on a Thursday. Our younger brother moved back down from Wales last year and is living with her at the moment which is nice for her and reassuring for the rest of us.

I'll have to see how the weather goes this week and time of course and get another trainer in if I can, if not I'll split the team and send those that have had three trainers can go to the first race, the others I'll try and give another trainer next weekend and then they can go to the second Bivingdon. It will be more than last years babies got and they went straight in at 112miles.

That was a lovely weekend Andy, and of course we also had Rory's wedding a year ago today.
