The wind favoured the blokes flying south, and my first bird came back to me again. But he hit the board and trapped very quickly and looked very well afterwards.
He's a nice blue chequer cock from the little 600 mile hen by the white flight Thone' cock. He should get better as they go further so he can have next week off again then go a bit further.
This is only club racing, but everyone is getting a bird and it is good fun. Isn't it what it is meant to be?
Nice one Muzza, well done. Yes it is supposed to fun, you may as well give up once you stop enjoying it. I hope they keep coming well for you mate.

Well done again Murray. What were your returns like this week?
I must say that although I have been down the sheet most weeks flying in the Glastonbury club I am enjoying the club racing again. We have a great club headquarters and with most members staying for a couple of drinks the social side is great.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.

Like you bruv it's very difficult getting anywhere near the top in Littlehampton but I love the social side of the club as much as the racing.

I have to report that I am running out of birds.
I lost two from the race, which was sad but not unexpected, and I have had another two go missing in the two days since.
We are being slaughtered. The hawks are chewing a hole in them.

That is a shame and frustrating for you Murray. Especially if they are ones that have been doing well. I suppose that they will be nesting soon over there?

Sorry to hear that Muzza 😔😣 It must be heartbreaking for you mate, especially when you put as much love and care into them as you do.
I hope things get easier for you soon 🤞🤞🙏

I only have 12 left to race, and being honest there's only 6 good ones. But that includes the mealy that won two weeks ago and the blue chequer that was first home the week before that, and again last week.
To be honest, I think they have had enough. Six weeks ago they were tearing up the sky. Now they are flying round the house and look a million dollars. :)
But on Saturday they go to the next race point. ;)
Maybe not.

I have trained them hard this year, because we have the house on the market, and my health is not improving. It has been a fairly hard selection. They have had dozens of tosses, even putting the ones that raced at the weekend back in a couple of days latter.
I have won one race and been forth 3 times from 4 races.
It just shows how competitive the sport is these days. If you want to win, you must train them hard. If you want to win them in a row, you must train them very hard.
What I have left after 4 races are starting to look tired. If it mattered I would just send them again.
It doesn't matter. So I won't.
