Well having gone through my youngsters today to put my ETS rings I got so wound up with them (because I have far too many) that I decided every bird that had the 20 mile trainer had to go πŸ˜‰πŸ˜…πŸ˜„ so on the back of this I've sent 32 birds leaving me 11 that have only had the 10 mile trainers, these I will try to give one 20 mile toss before I race them. It will be a test for them with the wind on their beaks, hopefully they will go up nice and early so they are home before the rain moves in and the winds pick up πŸ€žπŸ™πŸ€ž
As a club we had 7 members send 210 birds, I think there were around 600 birds sent in the fed but won't know this for certain until tomorrow. Sadly we have a few big senders who won't send in a west wind as they don't think they can win the fed !!! Also there are those who just won't send to the first youngbird race as it can be a bit of a free for all !!!
Good luck to all our members who have sent, I hope it's a decent race πŸ€žπŸ™πŸ€ž

That's plenty for a baby starter race

Eastbourne were clocking in on 1 hr 29 min. They are flying 15 miles further and are in the 1400s. Hope you had good returns.

This was our club result, our winner did very well to clock when he did as he is our most westerly flier !! He did send 77 birds but I have to take my hat off to him as he really has put some work into his birds and its paid off as where some of us had half our team missing he got 72 of his 77 home so well done Alan.
I'm fairly happy with my result, my first bird was quicker than I expected and trapped well, unfortunately my next three weren't so good as they took the best part of 20 minutes to trap 😬 I had birds coming in all afternoon with my 17th and 18th birds arriving just after 5pm. So when I went to the club I was 14 birds still out. Returns in general were very hit and miss, some members were only a few missing whereas others like me were nearly half their team still out. When I got home from the club I found 3 more home and I've had another 4 today so now have 25/32 which considering their preparation (or lack of it) I'm reasonably pleased with, I would like to see a couple more home yet. Same race point next week, most of these will go again plus some of those that I held back all being well.
