Preparation for my operation

The blue checker cock in the last picture is a Crammond/Langstaff pigeon, he was 2nd Club 5th fed 25th Combine from Perth 404miles, 83 members sent 582 birds in the combine. He has had other minor places and his offspring are showing promise too so I will probably stop him now.

Hi Trev birds looking very well, that blue pied in bowl in last lot of pics well and truly stands out, I have found when doing pics think it is the way they get uploaded, forget it that makes no sense and I cannot thgink how to word it, try uploading in a different way turn pics is what I'm trying to say

Wishing a very speedy recovery mate, you will be able to lift a glass or two but not your wage packet that is what they mean by heavy lifting, seriously mate listen to what they tell you I know folks who have had the same op, just take things steady and slowly

I was hoping you might notice that blue pied mate She is also the favourite of our friend and former Worthing member Brian Doick who looks after the birds for me when I'm away. I've got a lovely pair of late breds from them, the blue Cock is from Rich's (Bryn) stock crossed with Crammond lines, he was 4th Club 19th Fed from Hexham 295miles and 3rd Club 14th Fed from Perth 404miles, the Blue pied Hen is yours mate

Yes mate she was one of the babies that you bred me a couple of years when I lost most of them when I let them out. Her nest mate stayed too, he was a cracking little bird as well, sadly I lost him off the loft after he'd had a couple of races, almost certainly to the hawk I've also still got one of the special ones
She has had a few races but I haven't pushed her yet.

Yes Buster she has, and a lovely temperament too
I'll probably leave that pair together aw the late breds I have from them are very nice, I probably won't do much with them this year so would like to get some youngsters from her that can be raced this year.

I gave my loft a good clean out yesterday, I've put loft dressing on the floor and two bags of cat litter pellets. I'll give the perches and nest boxes another clean tomorrow and put in extra water troughs, Wednesday morning I'll put enough food out for three or four days which will means the birds should be ok left until the weekend. Hopefully by then I will at least be able to walk down the garden and feed them
My operation is booked for Wednesday afternoon, I've been told no heavy lifting for 4 to 6 weeks (not sure what they class heavy lifting yet) I will find out exactly what I can do after the OP Apparently if I don't do as I'm told and undo the repair then there is a chance that they won't be able to do it again so I do need to be sensible.
I still have too many birds, one of my jobs while recuperating is to go through and update all my records so I can establish what I have and who needs to go, I hate doing it but unfortunately needs must as I have too many birds that I cant race.

All the best for your operation, Trev. I had one done about 20 years ago, and we moved house a week later. So, of course I did too much and it's never been much good. Needs doing again, but I've been on a waiting list for about 5 years. Riding hard pulling racehorses probably didn't help either.
So, listen to the people, rest and do as you are told!
