Neil, i raced birds about 2018 for a couple of years. But like i say, breeding was what i enjoyed more. thinking about it, I sent birds to South Africa so it was earlier i returned. i think that was 2016. At the time we had my sister in law living with us, Jeanette was down syndrome and in to a couple of years of dementia. She livid with us for 31 years. So breeding was better for things going on at my home. Jeanette lives in a care home now 5 minutes from my home, to be honest it would be too much for me caring for my wife and sister in law.NeilA wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2024 8:23 pmSo it’s years since you raced ?Devo1956 wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2024 8:07 pmYes Neil i did get to race, it was in the Liverpool Amal. But it was off and on, i ran pubs in Liverpool for over 17 years so had a good time out of the sport. Before i went to work in Germany, I topped the Liverpool Amal from Hereford 7200 birds young bird race.
Then I returned to the sport many years after,
Before finishing in the sport.

That’s a shame not easy for you
I agree breeding is much easier than getting them to race I don’t blame you one bit
racing is hard work to compete week to week birds have to be spot on I sometimes think to myself have it easier and just breed them for olr or others to try , nothings easier than letting pigeons breed
make my life a lot less stressful
Its a 365 day sport, i did not have a day off when i had the birds. Family would go on holiday, i would stay at home caring for my birds. Its only the last couple of years i have started to travel again. So it's a good job i have family to take care of my wife.NeilA wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2024 9:12 pmDevo1956 wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2024 8:28 pmNeil, i raced birds about 2018 for a couple of years.
