It got me thinking.
Last year I had a young bird that won a race by minutes, arriving home on his own well before I saw another one. It caused a few raised eyebrows, but the clock don't lie.
I didn't think too much of it, I figured he had just broken away at the point I had been training from and put a gap on them.
But maybe when he broke away, about 20 miles away, he went up into the strong tailwind? He was certainly going at a rate of knots when he came over the house and swung in!

It's all food for thought.
The pigeon was certainly no superstar, I gave him a week off, sent him back and never saw him again.....
