We always had a nom and most times the best loft won like I’ve said before to keep all the club happy we have a £5 blind nom if you send say 30 secretary will say to someone 1 too 30 of your print out that’s your 5£nom the secretary picks your blind nom whoever wins is always happy and lads who don’t win have a chance. Sometimes I think it’s worth watching the 2 bird clubs or noms where you are restricted on entries, if a flyer consistently achieves high places with one or both birds then they would be a flyer of interest

I be honest lads you can dress a result up but for me there's 1 winner n there's a good bird in bad location on result,,
All these limits n 2 birds n special noms are OK for club entertainment but there not real results it's like the egg n spoon race at sports day it's a laugh.

The lads in the NW would disagree. The likes of R & B Smith of Burtonwood have a great results in North West Nantes 2bird, North Ashton 2bird, Wigan 2bird, Warrington 2bird, St Helens 3bird and Eccles 2bird ect. With proper pigeons in proper races in access of 500 miles. Sending 2 to these distances and clocking both birds ain't no egg and spoon race. And the prize money ain't bad either.
Have a read of this Ant and tell me this is just for entertainment?

Even so Neil surely fanciers flying in these 2B noms in clubs will be sending their best birds? My old club had a 2B Nom and you had too card in the club to stand any chance of winning the 2B. The 2B Club did highlight those fanciers who could pick their best birds out. A few in my old club did say at the start that it was just a way for a few prize cards for those further down the result. But that didn't happen, you had to have a decent bird to get a 2B card. I recall being 10 mins clear at Provins 418 miles winning both the 2B & the Club.

What I said king was if my club had a 2bird and I won it and it was part of a club race where I finished say 10th I would think what a shit race I have had

But that's maybe only you? Fanciers have no problems winning pools further down the result? why should a nom or 2B race be different? We have a Rose Bowel we fly for in the longest YB race, raced for since the 1940s it's a 2B Nom with the prize money going to winner. It's a cup that everybody still wants to win. It's sometimes won by the race winner but often won by a bird further down the result. When I first won it I was only 6th club.

Probably upset set a few here
Bit like racing aeroplanes n the pilots who cant take off start getting 1st prize for best attempt to take off ffs
You know what I hear this every week, of flyers I got them all home
Wtf that about got them all home if there miles behind there do u a favour not getting home,.
Sorry to say but most flyers now won't cull there sxxt they just keep em n it's these flyers who talk about 500 mile races n think it's a achievement clocking second day when there's lots of day birds, if there's none home on day n u clock second day when other second day birds are being clocked brilliant but if there day birds you must be honest n say ya bird jacked n had early night n come home next day,
Ime sure many birds just jack on race day n plod home at there pace because they know there's food n water there but they never actually race home,,
All the time u tell ya self I can't beat so n so or he's in better line n all that stuff u never get birds that can do things against the odds,,
When I was a kid 1 kid won a gold medal at sports day now all the kids get medals because it's fair it won't be long there be trophies for full returns n all sorts.
