Anyone tell me how long it takes for tail feathers to grow back.

If pulled out suddenly you should see them in 7 days or so then a there grow about inch to inch 1/4. a week from
memory say 4 weeks

They can grow on a YB in less than 3 weeks? I had a bird return from the 1st YB race one year missing her tail and she was sent again for the 4th race.

Well i guess you did very well, to get it ready for another race King.

So 3 weeks king from it happening to fully grown that’s lively

I didn't say it was fully grown. A bird can fly without a tail. If they couldn't nobody would get birds back missing them

I was told just this last weekend by a fancier who has won most of the big races that as long as the tail feathers are a couple of inches long the bird will fly fine. They only use the tail when stopping.

Is it not for balance Andy ?

I would think it would help with streamlining and possibly balance but have had pigeons with very little tail due to the moult still fly well so not sure.
