Myself, i feel a lot of hens are not raced, To me you dont really know what you have for future breeding, if you are not racing them. Get them right and they will shine.NeilA wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2024 9:55 amIt makes senseDevo1956 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2024 6:41 pmRight Niel, i understand mate. We were always asking the training transporter to change location. otherwise they were sitting waiting for the release.NeilA wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2024 12:28 pm
Thing is Devo I don’t train I only went Sunday and yesterday as I didn’t send Saturday that’s first toss since April
I thought it would be ok as I was t expecting it plus it was 430pm I just thought they had all day to hunt and if I’m honest I didn’t really expect it as this area has not really been hit like others
I think that’s also happening at race points and certain areas on popular line of flight where they know there’s a good source going through daily
I’m definitely going to learn more how to race hens as I need them but unfortunately I’m have no success with them despite being told how to do itit’s that or increase my breeding and cock team which means more work which I don’t have time for
See how far off I am this week with the hens as they are the team that’s gone last night along with 2 old cocks and 2 yearlings .
As Mike said look on it as a experiment for the future
They look well fly a good hour once a day but come Saturday I can’t remember a hen being first in the clock for me in the 5 races this year I often have 6 or 7 cocks first so something i am doing is wrong
Never ending
I agree mate
I just find one sex easier with work and 2 yb teams it’s hard just flying them out a hour or so a day
I normally just pick hens that are out my best that come to the tyoe I like give them two years then decide can’t go by yb results means nothing really I agree

I love hens and in these big wide feds I race in I prefer them massively, I've raced hens for a long time n if I had to choose it would be hens every time for my self.
I agree Anthony loads do now even my my competition at club level is hens I. think it’s just a stumbled on a cock method that didn’t work for hens then tried the diet etc way of feeding them had them flying fantastic at home really racing each but come Saturday cocks came
But I will work on it now I have to

8 fit cocks left now from a team of 21 that included 7 fed winners
3 birds are here but injured / finished
10 pigeons missing two reported dead from BOP
Last year I started with 20 ended with 17 killed one lost two
Might be more BOP due to mild winters a couple of new race points in bop areas / routes
Don’t know but it finished my season by early June
