It's only over the last couple of years, since i had to finish in the sport. I would never go on holiday while i had the birds, and if i spent a night away from my home. I would return early to see my birds, now i have more time to myself. I have the travel bug now, so i am planning to do more traveling and visit some lofts. I already have plans to meet up with our friends Murray and Catherine, Down under.
So my pans after that trip are going to Tokyo Japan, i have already watched a video on YouTube about a large breeding and racing loft. I hope to make contact to visit this loft. It is long distance flying over there, so it will be good to find out more about the birds they are flying. Janssen racing pigeons are one of the family of birds in the loft.

Do any of our members have a Bucket list?

Can’t say I do Devo
Had plans in life to aim for financially but not really to go anywhere or do anything
I wouldn’t mind a whole summer away though as a youngster I always fancied the summer months in Cornwall next to the beach but like most things it wouldn’t be the same now

I think now i have time, I want to make the most of it. After caring for a family member for 31 years, i have the bug now. To be honest Niel, i worked out of town years ago and also Germany.
I have been lucky in life to travel too some nice places, but it makes so much better if i have a loft to visit.

Yes I’m the same with work and travel only in places 3-4 days
But only saw things from the Bus travelling to work destinations from the airport and in and out type work
I could like plotting places for 2 months Like certain parts of Spain or France
more than a holiday so I can explore and set up there knowing it’s not just for a week

Yes i agree Niel, i would rather venture for a good few weeks. Last year i was moving to Spain, but things changed health wise with my wife Maria. But like she says , she does not like to travel long haul. But it is not stopping me from my trips. So i always do has i am told.

I have worked ever since leaving school at 15. Now 62. Many years in dairy farming working 60 to 100 hours a week. Then for the last 20 years owning my own pet shop working.6 days a week. Never had time for holidays. The last holiday we had was 19 years ago. After losing our mum and Roxanna’s aunt in the last month it makes you reevaluate things. We are in quite a good position now and I am thinking of selling up and retiring early once probate is all sorted. I want to be able to enjoy the years we have left.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.

Good plan Andy, you and Roxanna need to have a good break. You have both gone through some testing times, So plan forward and dont look back. I hope all goes well for you both.
