Like it says in the topic, well we all have our own ways of breeding. I have said many times breeding is very selective, before i finished in the sport. I brought in some very good stock birds, at the time i thought i was staying in the sport. My main aim was to start with my best cock, which at the time was a son of Donker Leo, a nice strong bold cock. So it was important to select the right hen for him. So I chose a mealy hen not a big hen, but very good breeding. The father a brother of Gooed Rode, And the mother was from 2 super breeders Nieowe 003 x full sister of Olimpic Rosita. Then i moved on to the next pair, At all times finding the right balance in the pairs.
What are other members thoughts on selecting for breeding?
Different ways of breeding
A good friend of mine sent me the below report a couple of days ago - I hadn't seen it since it was initially published
If it helps 1 person in one way or another that'd be cool
Be warned - it's lengthy!

I must say, one hell of a read. i am sure other members will say the same thing. A great mini book for new starters, so much knowledge gained over the years in the sport.MIL wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2024 6:51 pm A good friend of mine sent me the below report a couple of days ago - I hadn't seen it since it was initially published
