See to me there are good , average and poor fanciers in every area
Like people I have worked in every city going I find good , average and total w#####s in every city from London to Inverness from Norwich to Cardiff
No one area the people are better no one area the people are total tossers
Same as pigeons , you need to drop your stupid agenda king

It's not about North v South Neil. Good pigeons come from all around the country. My birds are based on birds that WON not clocked in after birds flying further. And I don't know why you referenced me selling a few pigeons? I give away many more birds than I sell.NeilA wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2024 4:11 pmWhy did you base your stock team on southern pigeons King the ones that you sell ybs fromking wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2024 3:33 pmI don't think it's blinded by distance Mike, if a further flyer clocks before the shorter flyers then their birds are inferior. I recall a Southern flyer saying Brian Denney only clocked once because of a South wind? Brian had clocked before this flyer got an arrival. And this flyer fail to grasp his birds were flying in the same wind.MIL wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2024 3:18 pm Doesn't make me wonder - it happens all the time
Some shorter flying birds get in and put up great performances, some do not
Some further flying pigeons get in and put up great performances, some do not
Some people are blinded by the distance flown, but it doesn't always make the shorter fliying pigeons inferior to them
Both in distance & sprint races if the shorter flyer doesn't clock first what makes you think their birds aren't inferior? Even if you are beaten by a fancier flying further you should still clock in before him.
My reply to Mike is how aren't birds clocked by shorter flyers inferior if clocked after the longer flying birds? Common sense is the shorter you fly the quicker you should clock? or is that wrong? As I posted even if you are beaten by a fancier flying further, you should still clock in before them.
Mike I'll give credit to a bird wherever it flys too. And your right conditions dictate where most races are won, but not all further fliers win because the conditions favour them? Many fanciers flying shorter are flying in the very same conditions. Like the NFC race yesterday how many thought the conditions favoured the longer flying birds?
Your birds are from Marley
Why did you not base your stock on northern pigeons that clocked early if that’s your point
Fine fancier he was and I dont blame you one bit for housing them
But I noticed you praise northern birds constantly yet filled your stock with Marleys pigeons who lived 40 mins from me in the south
Do you not think my club mate who beat all but a handful of the north midlands pigeons from Lerwick was a good pigeon flying 572 miles or was he lucky with the wind
There are top pigeons everywhere king but you have always praised pigeons from the north from chat and now here
The only credit you give is to mr palmer who you gave some pigeons to that you hope perform for him and this may shock you but I hope they do so for you him and The great fancier they originated from

Neil Marley was a longer flyer when he raced North, and he was still a longer flyer than most flying South he was still 90 mile inland from the coast. Your right I do give praise to the longer flying birds, as that's my interest. It may come across as a Northern thing, simply because the vast majority of the longer races are from the South. When the joint Lerwick race was flown it was won just 20 miles from me. A good winner but, longer Southern flyers were given credit by me also. There are several Southern fanciers I have huge respect for (your mate Mark being one of them), especially those that have done well both North & South.NeilA wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2024 4:43 pm Your birds are from Marley

What races of Marley do you give particular credit to when he raced north other than the Faroes raceking wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2024 5:09 pmNeil Marley was a longer flyer when he raced North, and he was still a longer flyer than most flying South he was still 90 mile inland from the coast. Me for a start!!
The birds had a helping wind and they had a slower start fast finish
You can see this by so many birds missing overnight
They clearly never crossed in great numbers
When I was looking for a new family of birds I looked though past results and his name often appeared. His record from Lerwick was as good as anybody's. He had Won Lerwick 565 miles some 15 times. The other appeal was he was a small team fancier, quality rather than quantity. The Rome performance was outstanding in the fact that the bird was turned 918 miles! The following year it was turned back North to Faroe 733 miles. And for good measure sent back to Lerwick the following year.(I still have a grandson of the Rome cock here aged 21)NeilA wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2024 5:17 pmWhat races of Marley do you give particular credit to when he raced north other than the Faroes raceking wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2024 5:09 pmNeil Marley was a longer flyer when he raced North, and he was still a longer flyer than most flying South he was still 90 mile inland from the coast. Although I'd known of Marley the performance that caught my eye was in 2005 when he was 1st sec H, 15th open Tarbes (Only bird in his section on the day flying 615 miles) but it wasn't till he was 1st Sec H, 63rd Open Tarbes in 2011 that I first rang him about getting some birds. The first 2 birds I got were a nest pair in 2012, out of the 63rd open Grizzle. Both are still here in the loft at 12 years old.
In his last ever National race Marley was 1st Sec D, 8th Open BBC Palamos only 15 in race time in 2015. I'm lucky to have 2 daughters of this hen. I believe Marley won section D in the BBC 8 times.
