Afternoon all, just for a bit of fun who do member's think should manage the England squad & your reason's why.
Regards Dave.
My choice would be Teucal the ex Chelsea manager, understands Premier league & European football, be interesting to see other members thoughts.
Regards Dave

I think it's likely to be Graham Potter

Let's face it, anyone would be better than Southgate (and I don't care what the stats say about his tenure)

He's had the most outrageous luck in the Draws of major competitions, inherited a fantastic squad of players that have been nurtured and given their opportunities by various Club managers - end result - zero

I see people going on about pep
Now he took a year a city to get them playing
With England he may get 8 weeks a year so he can’t do what he done a city with England as the players are coached different to when there at the clubs
You need a manger for short periods who looks at opposition plays our players in there best positions with basic system of play and to be able to inform the players of the opponent strength and style
A short term motivation with the basic in place

Stats are shit like Harry Kane’s etc
We now play more games against countries that are split from the original so mostly weaker Croatia the the exception probably we play teams that never existed 30 years ago the groups stages in 1974 was 2 groups of 4 I the euros
As for potter 31 games at Chelsea 12 wins compared to Lampard who people say failed 84 games 44 wins under 2 transfer window bans and the club sold hazard the month before Lampard arrived
But the media put a different spin on it

I agree Neil

Potter did well in his stints before Chelsea; hence how he got his crack at the Chelsea job

I never said Potter was my choice, but I'd say he was "most likely"

What did Southgate do as a Manager before getting the England job? O yea, he took Middlesbrough down

It's a good job he wasn't a pigeon in my loft

Agree
Now if you look as Jose mourinho the players totally buy into him before he goes potty only never won a trophy at spurs ( but who does ) lives in Sloan square so uk based
Would be a fantastic person to motivate players and put the fight in them
Plus in short term tournaments wouldn’t be about long enough to go crazy and upset the staff
I heard a interview recently where John Terry said he would do anything for Jose he bought into him that much

I would say Graham Potter. But only really because I’m a Brighton fan and he done a good job while there. I think he was always on a hiding to nothing in the Chelsea job.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.
