Good to see
Sadies Lofts home of decent birds just a useless loft manager, and now a confirmed loser but proud :D :D

Yes Neil, I am very pleased to have got 6 of those 10 in the first 12. Infact with 4 of the others being from 2 Cock birds gifted to me this year by Alan Still, I actually had new blood in 10 of the first 12 so I have to take that as a positive 🤠
That’s very encouraging and shows what a faster type can’t do
Be interesting to see if you stepped it up a little with mikes advice how far they could take you
I know training isn’t your thing and trust me it’s not mine but with ybs I think it has to be done. Sometimes I’m at work and think I hope it rains tonight but I look at it as 8 weeks work 4 weeks before 4 during the season and you only need to go as far as you want if they have a good 45-60 mins in the morning even 10 miles at night would just about do as it’s more out and home rather than the actual work
Are you feeding them nice and light ?

Sorry that I missed the last couple of posts guy's and thankyou for your advice and ongoing support.

We are all very different and I'm afraid I just don't have the energy or competitive drive for the short races these days, I am happy to have the birds around and to see them come home each week. I take my hat off to those who put in the hard yards and they deserve the plaudits for their efforts. Yes of course I still want to get up amongst them which is why I've brought in these new birds this year. My birds are all in together at the moment and fly on an open loft, my youngsters are still growing so they get fed what they want, I want them here for the long haul not just a couple of years. As you know my aim is really the longer races so these short ones are my trainers, my goal for these birds is Wetherby (216 miles) in 3 weeks time. From our 2 longest old bird races I was 4th Club from Kelso and 1st, 4th, 5th, 8th, 9th and 10th from Crief 406miles getting 21/24 home, 10 of them on the day, which considering the birds didn't go up until 10.30 isn't too bad !!

The birds this week were liberated at 11.45 in a brisk west south west wind with some showers. The birds cleared well but due to the wind and weather on route it was going to be an unpredictable race, I thought I'd need a bird between 1.15 and 1.30 !!
It was an interesting day in my garden as the combines had been out in the fields behind me and were still going in one of the lower fields so with the wind blowing in my direction there was a fair amount of dust in the air !! My neighbour decided to get his leaf blower out to clear his decking area and then preceeded to pressure wash his cars :? :? on top of that the wind had picked up considerably and the skies were full of buzzards, Red Kite and kestrels all taking advantage of the debris left behind by the combine. So a nice and relaxing afternoon watching for my birds wasn't to be lol  Anyway just after 1.30 my first arrived, I was in the loft so didn't see which direction it came from it was the same bird who was my first last week and was on the clock at 1.36, he was followed by another 2 at 1.37, 1 at 1.39 and 2 at 1.43. The birds continued to drop in over the next half hour or so and by 2.23 I had 21/30 home.
The satisfying thing for me was seeing nearly all my birds come directly out of the North, just where I'd want them to if I am to get up amongst the leaders. Considering the commotion going on around the loft the birds were only put off by the wind which caused them to do an extra circuit or two before landing, once on the loft they wasted no time trapping.
This is my clock sheet and the club result.

Although taking, the conditions into account, I was further down the sheet than I thought I'd be, the interesting thing is that in our club there was only 100ypm between the 36 pigeons which were flying to 9 different lofts !!
The other interesting thing is that in all the other 4 of the clubs in our Federation there seems to be 2 or 3 birds that really got away from the rest !! I'll post some screen shots of the other club results tomorrow.
This is our provisional federation top 10.

The first 5 positions are the winning birds from each of the other 4 clubs, Eastbourne, Shoreham, Newhaven and Brighton.

The distance is going up a bit next week :D

I understand your goals etc Trevor - honestly I do

On the other post you said you were "disappointed" with the weekends race

There's guys on here capable and willing to help - we just need to understand what we're dealing with
