as i had a loan of this mealy cock to breed off next year took no notice that he had 2 eggs on the floor thought they had got broken when checking found one has hatched :lol:

The thing I would say against both eyes is the fullness of the irises. The b/wf has a violet eye and a little of it can be seen through the iris. The Mealey has a green eye. The inner circle is of good width and depth but you can’t see the circle of colouration, which is probably old gold, because of the fullness of the iris. Both these would have to go with hens with plenty of room in their irises.

it has been suggested th e mealy was a showracer cross i did think the same as had the show birds back in the 80s if it is t will be quickly found out
