no Dev ybs should not need anything other than a good mixture just me 2 ybs with Trev have 5 races so far including last weeks race i think i was conned in buying ybs after the rpra final 2 years ago thinking they had come from the final without checking these 3 hens did not even have a trainer now all hens have come from a olr final
I am just searching George around for some OLR, for next year 2025. So i have time to sort out getting birds bred for the OLR. I do miss breeding myself, something i always enjoyed.George and Morgan wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2024 1:23 pm no Dev ybs should not need anything other than a good mixture just me 2 ybs with Trev have 5 races so far including last weeks race i think i was conned in buying ybs after the rpra final 2 years ago thinking they had come from the final without checking these 3 hens did not even have a trainer now all hens have come from a olr final

i sometimes think olr birds breed olr ybs
Well many think that way George, myself i feel you need good quality birds from proven winners. At different distances that can maintain the speed, when others are falling back.
Good luck with your search Devo, it's just good to see you back in the game mate, long may it continue.Devo1956 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2024 9:05 am Already starting work on the plans for 2025, for me it is OLR and 5 gold rings for the Bamford gold ring race around 200 miles. I am also waiting to see how Murray comes along, with his idea for members to race youngsters in a cup race. I am already scouting around for my youngsters to go to OLR. So the search goes on looking for the right machines to do the job.
Two of yours did ok yesterday George, my 1st and 2nd birds !! Unfortunately I think I made a mistake with the 3rd one !! He was next day from last weeks race, although I sent 2 others who were also late last week which made it ok, I didn't think he felt quite right, but as it was only 80miles again thought he'd be ok, I should have listened to our Dad, "if in doubt, leave it out".George and Morgan wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2024 1:23 pm no Dev ybs should not need anything other than a good mixture just me 2 ybs with Trev have 5 races so far including last weeks race i think i was conned in buying ybs after the rpra final 2 years ago thinking they had come from the final without checking these 3 hens did not even have a trainer now all hens have come from a olr final
Good luck with your plans for next year too mate.
I'm not sure yet on my plans for next season, I'll wait and see what's left after our last race. I do need to have a proper sort out though, I've still got far too many birds. I've sadly also now got to find homes or move on a dozen birds from our Mum's.
Thanks Trev, Prepare or be prepared to fail.Trev wrote: ↑Sun Aug 18, 2024 8:31 amGood luck with your search Devo, it's just good to see you back in the game mate, long may it continue.Devo1956 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2024 9:05 am Already starting work on the plans for 2025, for me it is OLR and 5 gold rings for the Bamford gold ring race around 200 miles.
