Littlehampton RPC
Sorry for the late update, it was the wife's birthday Monday and I was out with my son last night as it's his birthday next week.
I had another 1 back on Sunday and 2 more yesterday so I'm up to 16/24 now, I've done much better than most our Clib and Federation members by the sounds of it, the really sad for me is that it's mostly my new sprint birds that are still out
We really don't know if its clashing or the weather, the suggestion at the moment is leaning more towards clashing !! I've had one reported in Lowestoft, the same fancier has also got one of our Club Chairmans in, we've had another member with one in Norfolk and another with one in Holland, so for whatever reason the birds were dragged over to the East, which would also explain why our fed winner and more easterly clubs were ahead in the result !!
We will never really know !! That's pigeon racing, in all my years keeping pigeons it's not the first time something like this has happened, and it won't be the last, I just hope one or two more of my Welsh ones work back

In our club a few birds have been reported. 1 has been reported injured still on the IOW so never got off the island. Another reported in Portsmouth just crossing over from the island. So these never really got away. 1 has been reported in Stroud, just North of our combine and 4 around the Bristol area. All these have gone well over their lofts.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.
I would say the clashing of birds last weekend, sorry to hear Trev. A bad weekend can change the whole season, good that you have got right back into it mate. All the best for this week.Trev wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2024 7:30 am Sorry for the late update, it was the wife's birthday Monday and I was out with my son last night as it's his birthday next week.

Sorry for the late report, as expected numbers were way down with only 6 members sending 64 birds in the club and only 190 birds in the fed.
They were liberated at 9am with no wind given at the liberation site, with the forecast showing a North West wind I thought the winners would be in around 10.30.
Well 10.30 came and went, then around 10.50 I saw 2 birds coming up from the South, completely the wrong direction for me !! They didn't waste too much time trapping and were clocked at 10.53.31 and 10.54.07, they were both George's. Soon after they were joined by a 3rd and shortly after another 3, they had all come up from the South. By 11.08 I had another 3 but then had to wait for over an hour for any more, by the time I went to the club I had 15/16 back. The later ones that I saw arrive mostly came from the West, I also had a couple of strays turn up with them, one came in but after a few minutes rest the other one carried on it's way. Unfortunately the one missing hasn't turned up, I fear that is down to me, he is another of George's and was next day last week. I wasn't going to send him as I didn't think he was quite right, but as it was only 80miles I thought he'd be ok.
This is my clock sheet, our club result and our probable federation top 10.
After last weeks disaster Alan only sent the 5 birds, a fantastic result for him again, and Dave Winter only sent the 1 so a big well done to him too.
Just 4 races to go now, unfortunately we've not got a 200 miler again now which I am a bit disappointed about so this weeks 134 Miles is now our longest race.
