Not good returns

Talk about anything racing pigeon related here aslong as there isnt a section for it.

I have just messaged Brian Crowe from Crowe and Worrel partnership. Reported between 15 to 20 birds home in N/w combine, In his club he had 0 out of 47. A really bad day for racing.

Hmmm not good at all !! As I say I'm not sure of other returns around here but there are quite a few empty perches still.

I stopped mine a couple of weeks ago so missed yesterday’s debacle but it seems the same all over look at the NFC. However it shouldn’t have been a surprise, yesterday’s weather was poor across much of the country with low cloud rain and humid conditions the perfect recipe for bad racing. With the sport under more scrutiny than ever before I do believe the unions should step in and set minimum weather requirements for liberations. Our area yesterday was the perfect example of how it easily goes wrong. Two feds at the same point one libs the other holds, so clearly the weather wasn’t great, result probably from what I’ve seen 75% have nighted out from a short comeback race. I don’t blame the race controllers it’s a tough job and sometimes you’re dammed if you do and you’re dammed if you don’t. However if we had a minimum weather requirement it would make it much simpler. The old adage so often rings true „no sun no fun“ and yesterday there was precious little of it.

Racing has stopped in some parts of Germany, i am just hoping we can get the German classic OLR finished with good returns.

I had 3 web cams from Nottinghamshire where our birds would come through they were all awful
Full cloud, mist , poor visibility
I just wonder what people are doing not to search out basics that we can all find easily these days
I had a pal 20 miles from lib site sent me a video again very poor but I could have easily just found a local web cam or traffic cam to confirm that
It’s only a 5 min job to do

Just been having a look on NFC website and the young bird race has only 43 members verified from 194 that entered, and some of them velocities are in the 200ypms.

I do agree with you there Steve. The only problem with that is we would only be racing half a program some years. A race convoyer once said. If they’re stupid enough to send them I’m stupid enough to let them go.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.

As you know Neil we discussed you sending or swerving

After extensive homework there was only one good call and you made it

Well done you

It doesn’t take a brave man to send a pigeon to a race
