The Met Office has a weather station network across the whole UK, with more than 200 automatic stations. These weather stations measure a large variety of different meteorological parameters, including air temperature; atmospheric pressure; rainfall; wind speed and direction, humidity; cloud height and visibility.

So why do these problems with racing carry on, with the loss of so many birds when it can be avoided?

People not making use of what’s available
Our race advisor still rings 2/3 old mates on the line of flight rather than use what’s new and available but no one wants the job and he does ,it looks like he got this one badly wrong
A few members in the fed are in a chat group 154 pigeons they sent and 17 are home as of 12 noon today

Neil, i would say its up to the Club, Fed, Combine Secs to do the job. Then it is their call to say if the race is on or off, bur also the owners of the birds should be doing their own checking .
