Last year We had a youngster clocked at 1824 meters per minute. She was the 2nd fastest pigeon in all of germany from over 120.000 pigeons. Made into the tauben-markt magazine etc. Definitely alot of pigeons missing there but still a great video !

They missed the fastest of all

The highest race speed recorded is one of 2952m 3229yd per min (177.14km/h 110.07mph) in the East Anglian Federation race from East Croydon, Surrey on 8 May 1965 when the 1428 birds were backed by a powerful south-south-west wind. The winner was owned by A. Vigeon & Son, Wickford, Essex.

If its "fastest" then its list is fundamentally flawed

If the focus is "best" - well then its still wide of the mark

Who knows, but I bet it didn't begin with van  Back i the day the Westcotts were popular in the area plus the old East Anglian pieds but what there origins were who knows. Amazing the record has stood for 49 years.

With the right conditions and a good strong wind they can get along alright.
Last weekend the winner of the combine race here went 1979 metres per minute over 517 kilometres.
Greetings from the land down under. :D
