Since next year will be my first year racing in the old+yearlings races. I am fairly unexperienced in this field. Most people i know do Widowhood and i was planning on doing the same. But maybe some people here have experience with other methods to get proper motivation for the hen's besides the widowhood system. Keep in mind that i will only race hen's. hopefully i can get some answers since its going to be a tight squeeze to fit enough widowhood / motivation boxes in the loft.
We had a member on here Anthony that raced his hens in pure celibacy very well
I also have a club mate flying a team the same way just makes it impossible for them to pair up
Wade brothers fly hens to stay at home cocks and place boards with v perch’s over one nest box if you look on you tube there is a full loft report on them by Chris Gibson of northern powerhouse auctions
Unfortunately I don’t know how to copy it on here for you

Interesting take on his side. I don't really know anyone that doesn't race them without teasing them on basketing day or the day before But i guess it seems to work for others. Wish he would have named some "big" fanciers as he claimed in the video so i could actually check up on that or if hes just saying it to enforce what he claims
I think it is all down to having good pigeons, birds raced at top level before all these different systems came in. If you have the quality, they will show their true ability. It is a very fine balance no matter what you try, but if the bird is good enough it will show.Spieker-Loft wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2024 12:35 pmDevo1956 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2024 12:32 pm A little video.

The only thing I can think is they race like ybs for the love of home and keep that instinct from the yb season
I tried celibacy cocks once they flew great at home looked fantastic but come Saturday they were off the pace and wouldn’t always dive for the trap like a widowhood cock
I was obviously doing it wrong as I know others who swear by the system
