What do members use Saturday Sunday
When they race or raced
I know Andy can’t get any distance so maybe what you previously did Andy would be of interest
I use energy fat mix that’s high fat high protein but no peas or big grains as much as they want with mixed broth and minerals in the tray with Tolisan forte in the water for some reason I do think this works and I have never really been one for vitamins or understood amino acids but the pigeons do seem to improve after a hard fly with it
Sunday morning same again if it’s been a head wind or 3 /4 hour race if not back on to my high carb low protein feed with small amount of fats
I did use protein powder but haven’t for a while but I do have gemthepax on the Sunday feed
First fly will be Monday night for them
Saturday/ Sunday feed and water

I was just going to ask Neil the same thing Dave ?.
Sorry I should have said its mix of lentils, mung beans and tares and small high protein seeds what ever I can get that isn’t pea size
I call it broth as it looks like the stew and soup packs you can buy although they have barley in that it’s all very easy to digest protein much better than a pea or bean that’s going to sit in the crop 10 hours
It can even be soaked to digest quickly and I often do this for young bird racing
You can buy VL base mix it’s similar but I just buy it in small bags as I only use it on return so don’t want a big bag plus base contains a lot what I have in my energy mix so I just add a few handfuls of my protein seed ( broth mix )

Hi mate
I soak it over night and would feed that first but you don’t really need to for the races I fly
I always soak my yb Friday morning feed overnight and feed it wet they dive into no different to normal
I will feed a few handfuls of seed again about 3pm but more water the better into them Friday as they don’t know to drink a lot or they are going to be sat 10 hours on the lorry
I don't put no glucose in the water or rehydration stuff but you could

When I raced widowhood before they wouldn’t get fed when arriving home. The hens were fed earlier in the boxes. This was so that the cocks sole attention was on the hens. Once the hens were removed, after about 30 mins, the cocks would get a light feed of depurative. An hour after the first ones arrived and the hens and bowls had been removed I would take a bucket of warm water into the loft. Every cock would be held in the water for one minute. Once finished the cocks were left alone and would be all laying relaxing in their boxes. They would start going out again Sunday morning. They used to get pigeon tea to drink on Sunday but other than that I never put anything in the water.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.
