Mike Lycett Van Den Bosch

Talk about anything racing pigeon related here aslong as there isnt a section for it.

Just watched this YouTube Keith Mott Film of Mike's old family, those Van Den Bosch pigeons certainly looked the part. Anyone still race this family, think they had Janssen/ Meuleman in the mix as well.

They were a smashing pigeon Dave

If I were to think back to 1992 I had a Section of 9 cocks in that loft and I'd go anywhere sprinting with them 9 cocks they were mustard

They were durable too.

I had 1st Worcester Fed Nantes 3,035 birds (381 miles) on a sticky NE wind when we were furthest flying loft on the Fed that day

I only ever sent 1 of them once to Bergerac (557 miles) and clocked him on the day too

The Pencil would be one of the 3 best I ever bred and raced

I think he was something like 10 times in the top 10 of the Fed (all winds) with over 5,000 in the race each time

2nd 9,531 birds was his best

If I remember rightly I think both the Sire of The Pencil and the Sire of that Worcester Fed Nantes winner 3,000+ birds both cost me £15
