Nice to see you Leon and hope health issues improveSpieker-Loft wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2024 12:30 pm Few things i would like to clear up about my current absence from here.
It has nothing to do with what anyone said. I dont think there were any bad intentions from anyone inside the post that we were discussing in. Of course i felt a bit misunderstood in the moment but i do still respect their opinion that they shared and there were no heart feelings involved in the discussion atleast from my side of things i still like everyone here and respect everyone. i been comming here every now and then and still read through everything.
I simply been dealing with alot in the past 1-2 months specially health wise which is the only reason why i haven't been around recently atleast not around to talk about stuff and create new topics etc.
Does it really matter to you.
Sadies Lofts home of decent birds just a useless loft manager, and now a confirmed loser but proud

Well that’s me closed up now for a couple of days. Reopening the day after Boxing Day. We were quite quiet today for Christmas Eve, but that was after one of our best days since we’ve had the shop, 20 years, yesterday.
Nice to have a couple of days off.
As far as the forum is concerned I think we can all move on now. I have been on this forum now for 9 years and I know it was going for a while before I joined. It has always been a very friendly site and I for one have made some good friends on here. We have lost a few good members over the years, Killer who past earlier this year and Magic due to health problems. We also lost a few when the site was updated a few years ago now and everyone had to rejoin and all the old posts were lost, which was a real shame.
Let’s just keep this a friendly site that ALL can enjoy and be part of, whether we want to be the best there is or just love having the pigeons and seeing them return from a race. We will always have our own views and will also disagree with some of others posts, and that’s how it should be. If there was only one way of winning or enjoying the sport wouldn’t it be boring. Unfortunately anything written in a text, message, email etc can be miss read, understood or taken the wrong way. I have had a running with Mike and to a degree with Neil, but am happy to forget it and move on and still read and listen to their posts, and am happy to answer or comment on any of their posts whether I agree or not.
So let’s continue to try to help others out to help them enjoy this sport to whatever degree they want.

Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.
So it looks like the Forum has been busy whilst i've been asleep today (On Nights this week).
The only thing I can see is that virtually all fanciers who posted on the Scottish Christmas Race were all against the race being held whilst George put forward an alternative view perhaps. We're all entitled to our own opinions on that one. Me personally it's a race I'd never send in regardless of the money involved. At my loft I'd only enter my birds into a race if I thought they were well enough and fit enough to do themselves justice. With the race at this time of year how truly fit can birds be when they've probably not all that long ago come through their moult?
That's fine, but then the attacks seemed to get a bit personal
George is irked that Neil and I share similar views. Well, we probably do. We're similar minded fanciers (basically sprint orientated) and demand the best from our birds. The way we go about doing that is very different. I raced my YB darkness, Neil does not. Neil can tell you how many grams a day his birds eat. I couldn't tell you that once on any given day. Neil would use barley much more than me, and I'd probably use supplements far more than Neil does. So whilst we're similar minded we have our own way of doing things - both very successfully because Neil's a hell of a sprinter
To say the forum has got weaker because of mine and Neil's presence is the one that lit the firework for me. We've both posted over 1,000 posts on all types of topics and contribute where we can. From my chair I've hosted competitions and I answer more messages, emails and texts than the rest of the Forum combined and i'd bet money on that. All of that is done with my best intentions and I give my time and knowledge freely without expectations.
So, if someone doesn't like me. That's cool, I can live with that - doesn't bother me one bit. We're all human and we all judge one another. But when the attacks become more personal then that's another matter entirely. I know my way around a pigeon and I'll happily put my performances up to be judged if it were ever required.

Anyway, lets just forget about it and carry on. It's Christmas, the season of good will to all men. I for one don't want our forum going the way of Chat.
Greetings from the land down under.
Blessed is he who expecteth nothing, for verily, he shall not be disappointed.

I'm afraid I haven't read every comment on this topic, but will just add my piece.
I think we just all need to remember that we are all very different and are all looking for different things from this remarkable hobby of ours, some of us are in it for the pleasure and pride of winning whereas others just enjoy having the birds around, seeing them home on a race day and the social aspect of club racing. So lets just accept that and be respectful of each other, so we can all continue to enjoy this forum and the sport we all love and enjoy.
Happy Christmas to you all
