had something happen this year which never happen before a pair stopped feeding there 10 day old ybs and went to nest again leaving the ybs to die they had no food at all in the crop

Only time I know of is they stop feeding when they sense there is something wrong with the baby, so maybe that is why

You may well be right ,the other reason could be red mite in the nest

i have just thought of something as breeding had finished they nest on the floor i have a cat not mine who sleeps under the loft that may well be the reason
