How often do you guys clean the nest boxes from the time that you pair up to the time you wean the babies?
Do you clean both sides of the box?
Would you clean the bowls at anytime ?

I clean the boxes daily, sometimes twice. I put newspaper in the box and remove it as required. I also replace the nest bowls if they get grubby.

So, if a pair has gone to a lot of trouble to make a big nest, would you still clean out the bowl?
Also with a loose nest a lot of straw and stuff can spill out into the box - do you clear that away?

Dave, myself would still be cleaning daily. At around 14 days of chicks being in the bowl, i would clean and then put fresh staw in the bowl. Giving a fresh bed for chicks to bed in, not long after this they will be getting in and out the bowl walking around and starting to eat. I always had a feed and drinks cups on the box.
