Route Change
Dave won’t be having a problem with his old birds this year as they will be racing East - West. The same as last year. It’s the youngsters that will be racing from the SW. With the combine rule it means that the old birds next year, 2027, would have to race from the SW. Fine for the yearlings. It would be the older birds that would need turning.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.

Old birds for 2026 I thought that need to race west to east after another old bird season of east to west this year
August 2025 after racing train them the west route ( new route) was my advice
No point in going all over the gaff particularly east

I fully agree with what you’re saying. I know some of our members are going to be sending their youngsters different directions on alternate weekends. One week with the combine and one with the 3 counties. Of course on top of that they will be sending South in the nationals. It can be quite challenging when living near to the South Coast. No continually flying the same direction.

I think let them get on with it Andy I would focus on the one routeAndy wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 9:59 amSorry Neil my mistake. I meant 2026. Getting ahead of myself. Had you been flying your distance races then it wouldn’t matter just go against a head wind ,
might be a opportunity for you to get a nice line over time with a team your cocks holding it from routine
Yes I agree Neil. I think I will just send with the 3 counties and keep them coming from the same direction. A bit more distance in general too. The SW would be a good way to go for sprinting if they were going to stay that way, which they won’t, as I would actually be on of the longer fliers rather than the shortest.NeilA wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 10:03 amI think let them get on with it Andy I would focus on the one routeAndy wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 9:59 amSorry Neil my mistake. Few races of more miles would be more enjoyable and the drag will not bugger you up as much like the 35 mile racesAndy wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 10:47 amYes I agree Neil.
