For Andy
I'm a non-believer in eye sign Dave, but I wouldn't call myself a 'knocker'? so I won't use the above phase, which is ironically actually paramount in a Racing pigeon. But I will say, a good pigeon cannot have bad coloured eyes.Diamond Dave wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2025 12:30 pm If you wouldnt mind Andy and Devo, could I ask that you post your conversations on this thread rather than via pm so I can get a chance to hear Andys views.
Just hope we dont get the knockers looking in - the "wouldnt bother as long as it has two" brigade!!
I haven’t spoken to Devo at all on this Dave and am happy to give my views for all to see.Diamond Dave wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2025 12:30 pm If you wouldnt mind Andy and Devo, could I ask that you post your conversations on this thread rather than via pm so I can get a chance to hear Andys views.

I do like both eyes but for me from a breeding point of view I do think they are both rather full in the iris to work well together. Only because I don’t think there is much spare room in the second eye to absorb some of the strength of the first.
The first eye does have a good inner circle of green with some nice lines in it. The circle of colouration is a yellow gold but because of the fullness of the iris it can’t be seen very much. The iris is nice and mountainous in appearance.
The second eye has an even better inner circle which is both wider and nicely serrated around the outer edge. The circle of colouration is a good violet and with this one it can be seen more and right out to the outside of the eye. The dark red iris is mountainous and broken with some nice veining running through it. It does go deep into the inner circle at around 10 o’clock.
As far as the cere is concerned Dave I can see what you mean about the bit of damage to the second eye in the bottom right. Yes it could have been caused by a bit of damage, maybe from a peck. But could also have been as a result of a bit of illness, possibly a bit of fat eye.
I haven’t heard about it possibly from having spent time out Neil but you could well be right if a bird had been very run down at some point.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.
Not a clue Andy just he picked it out and said move it on as it’s going to be no goodAndy wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2025 8:42 pmI haven’t spoken to Devo at all on this Dave and am happy to give my views for all to see.Diamond Dave wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2025 12:30 pm If you wouldnt mind Andy and Devo, could I ask that you post your conversations on this thread rather than via pm so I can get a chance to hear Andys views.

I thought no way it’s been out 10 days may have made effort to get home and you hear birds returning doing well
Unfortunately he was right it went done early as a yearling I think 2nd race
Maybe it had been ill on the 10 days bit looked ok
Never really understood it
