Keep cats away
That will work Chris as long as you can position it right. Remember if the cat touches the wire he has to also earth it. No problem if running it near the ground but it won’t earth very well if the wire is run over the loft if the cat is standing on the loft if it’s wood.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.
As Andy says, that should help as long as you position in the right place and at the right height.
I have to say that the only way I've ever really successfully kept cats away from my garden and loft, was by getting a cat myself !!
Thankfully, at the moment, I don't have a problem with cats, just the hawk

I had one years ago I bought home I found dumped in a old world war look out post starving to death I didn’t even want it but what do you do
It was a fantastic cat nothing got close to the pigeons

in fact the opposite the cat would often be laying in the sun with the pigeons walking around it.
