Spare a thought for the residents of the east coast of Australia from Brisbane down to the north coast of NSW.
Tropical cyclone Alfred is 200 miles off shore and very slowly heading in.
Over one million homes are in it's path.
It is being described as the most powerful storm to hit south eastern Queensland ever.
It's going to be bad.
Storm
Cancel that.
It appears tropical cyclone Alfred will be a beast alright, it's going to do some damage. Already has.
But it is coming ashore as a Category 2 cyclone. Rainy, blowy, scary. Not like Cyclone Tracy for example. Cat 5. Took Darwin off the map.
Unfortunate for the bureau of meteorology who were already making breathless comments about climate change driving bigger storms. They can't take a trick.

Greetings from the land down under.
