We did have a good visit to David, he was a great host, showed Devo all around the loft. Devo handled a lot of pigeons. He was very impressed with a young blue hen with a white snip on it's nose. It is out of a top Jannsen hen which belongs to one of the leading studs here. David has a relationship with them, many of his pigeons are ferried back and forth to breed in his single pens.
David showed Devo his feeding methods and management.
We had a cup of coffee and a good chat, it was very enjoyable.
When we got home I called David to thank him and he said to tell Devo that the young hen he liked now belonged to him. He was going to take it out of the race team and it will be coming to my place when we next go to town. It is closely related to one or two of mine, and we will breed some youngsters for OLRs and special ring races next year. Very generous.
I'm trying to contact another bloke in Horsham to arrange a visit out there, but have had no success yet. I'll keep trying.
Greetings from the land down under. :D

Sorry I've not been on to keep up with this thread, but it is great to see you both getting on so well and that you are both having a great time. I'm sure it will do your health the power of good Devo.
Enjoy the rest of the trip both of you.

We have had an amazing time together. It is hard to explain, so i shan't bother.
Suffice to say that Catherine was a little hesitant about a bloke we had never met. Now she is insisting he comes back to see us.
We have had time to talk about pigeons, obviously. Devo has seen that the racing is very different. He's very observant, and a thinker.
Bit by bit we have become very much in agreement.
There are some extremely good pigeons in my shed. We shall extend the loft and breed youngsters for OLRs and special ring races. There is some money to be won.
From now on we will race as McPhie and Dever.

I wish you both all the luck in the world with the venture, and really good to see you had a great time

Things are really coming together in St Arnauld, Murray working away on the plans for the new loft extension. I have to say he knows his stuff, all plans drawn and materials ordered. It looks like a really good plan coming together, it as turned out to be a great trip. The welcome from Murray and Cathrine, made it all worth while. A long way I must say, but I have enjoyed every minute of my great venture.

Yep, we have decided to double the size of the loft, with a walk in section in the middle for a store room. The roof will continue at the same height as the current loft. It will be extended from 8 feet long to 20 feet long.
We picked up Devo's young hen from David yesterday, She has a white snip on her nose and Devo has named her "Diamond Blaze". The youngster is exquisite. David also gave us a young cock bird, out of a daughter of " King Leo" Who is by "Bolt 2" a full brother to Heremans' "Bolt". It's father has 3 crosses of "The Scallop Cock", a foundation breeder in Australia. All the very best Jannsen lines in Australia. Very athletic youngster.
We are quite enthused about our project.
A heap of timber arrives on Tuesday, So here's me out with the tools getting started on this. :D

Not even on the agenda, Buster. :D
I have some new plans and a new direction, so I'll be fairly occupied for a minute.
Also Catherine will not travel that far, and we have become fairly much joined at the hip. We seldom go far way from each other any more. We had some adventures, but now we are very much home people.
