Training yet
At last I've had the birds out without a hit, I've only been letting them out just before evening feed, about half 5. The first evening very few came out, those that did were very nervous and didn't go far, last night quite a few more came out, they are starting to look more confident and actually flew for a bit. I'll give them longer today and tomorrow, all being well they'll be back on an open loft Monday.
Too early for an open loft Trev, keep them restricted for a bit longer.Trev wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 9:10 am At last I've had the birds out without a hit, I've only been letting them out just before evening feed, about half 5. Agree, mine have an open loft for a few hours, but not till the start of May when the female sparrowhawk starts to sit her eggs.Albert wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 10:02 amToo early for an open loft Trev, keep them restricted for a bit longer.Trev wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 9:10 am At last I've had the birds out without a hit, I've only been letting them out just before evening feed, about half 5. Not sure Murray having seen Lambrechts results from Mike last week they were certainly ready
my best year I had 6 fed wins in 11 races the opening race I had 7 drop to win the fed I also won the fed in the last race so to me you want you birds ready and in perfect health and fitness
It’s been good weather here 15-18 degrees brilliant blue sky and it’s set to stay like that next week
It’s been light early enough to lib at 630am
If anyone near me or in areas getting the same weather and not ready they need to look at themselves or get a alarm
clock
I don’t mean train in cold winds and rain but it’s been T shirt weather here all week
Then there is form and super form but what brings super form Murray
Not as form like good health, training well, flying well but the real super form
I think in 8 years that’s only hit my loft twice in old birds where you go In to the loft for a few weeks and know you have won before you even mark the pigeons and the winner can come from any box
Lambrechts certainly had a good start to the season and his first 3-4 birds were all yearlings
If they're good enough they're old enough
Yes Neil
George would've been on the same trips to Belgium as me in the early 1980's
The trips were hosted by Roy Clarke of Tamworth
Will you make the first race if you don’t get anymore strikes now TrevTrev wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 9:10 am At last I've had the birds out without a hit, I've only been letting them out just before evening feed, about half 5.
