Pigeons should be in that trap like flies round sh!t - tumbling over themselves to get in
Been there, seen it, done it, got the t shirt
Young birds 2025
Yes, Mike but at which point does it stop being imprinting and start being training to the tin?
Any idiot can starve them into submission.

Train to the tin is about 10 days for me but they get fed as much as they want each day after the trap
After that it’s done
I have seen lots of video from fanciers on the continent and USA and I can’t believe how they trap
I think how can you win like that surely they can’t be like 4-5 mins clear of the field or is poor trapping normal in some areas
When I re started I got my yb in about 30 in number just on a min a good fancier was with me and said that should be 15 secs at most from first calling where I was thinking that’s not to bad
Yes I had to do that this year because I have lost my old system, but having quick trapping based on starving the pigeons is very very bad.
I am almost back at the point where I can stand at the sputnik shaking the feed bucket while they land all around me on the trap.
Not quite. But I will get there.

The very best feeling is when a bunch of very fit young birds fly over after an hour or so on the fly. and you whistle and call " C'mon' c'mon c'mon c'mon , and they all tilt over on their wings and listen to you!

They get as much food as they want MurrayMurray wrote: ↑Sun Apr 06, 2025 9:24 am Yes I had to do that this year because I have lost my old system, but having quick trapping based on starving the pigeons is very very bad.

Say you feed 6pm you trap train at 8am next day to a little feed do that 2/3 times a day full feed last time all they want
It’s not starving how I do it
My ybs each year fly one hour even when they roam they are back 4/5 min either side of the hour one call and in there a joy to fly
You got it, Neil.
But just because I have a different way of thinking about it does not make me correct.
It's just my opinion.
