yes, you did well by giving the pigeon a home and a chance.
But, as Mike says, it probably would not have made much difference.
I had a very good one stray in many years ago when there was a very stormy weekend. But generally, the good one's don't need a foster home.
Just got one back!

You are all correct of course, but if it happens again I think I would make sure the bird was a bit more settled before putting it in a race basket. I think that was my mistake.
Lesson learned!

You were right in the first place Mike.
As a fancier, you were/are focused on only one thing, whereas for me, there are so many "variables" in this game and while I will always ask for advice and opinions, I still like to try things out for myself.

I look at things differently
If I wanted to start a business would I ask a millionaire who self funded his company or a bloke working in a factory
So in my head I can make a short cut by asking the right people who may have already made the error I was about to do

Surely you just want to put your efforts into good birds though Dave ?

Aaahhh Mike, you have done everything and won everything there is to do and win in pigeon racing through total, unphased dedication and unwavering focus.
What you have achieved is admirable but I believe we are two very different people. Nowt wrong with that of course, but my goals are not the same and I don't have that same dedication as you had and am not so devoted to winning everything as you obviously must have been.
I love my birds and consider them to all be "good" birds
My way of thinking is that this one could well have been a "good" bird but I didn't really give him the best chance.
Having said that, I obviously understand your take on it and am always grateful for your input, comments and guidance.
