But first I have to stop chuckling. "And pay attention...." I am surprised you don't add, "There will be a test afterwards"

Well that was an anti climax.
The young bloke cheerfully admitting that he is "somewhat maniacal" sort of made me just a bit hesitant about taking his advice as gospel..
If I may summarize, he uses the old break down and build up method, as so many still do. He does not measure, but "feeds by feel". Hello? So do I, and lots of people.
He is doing well, and is to be congratulated. Has he re invented the wheel? I don't think so.

Doesn’t matter what you feed. Good sound corn and good pigeons is all you need. The hype about feeding is laughable. I know this from over 50 years experience in pigeons, dairy cattle, as a sportsman and now 20 years in the pet trade. The ridiculous things that some of these feed companies claim are just for marketing purposes. Even the vets haven’t got a clue. The only food that they tell customers to feed their cats and dogs is the food that they supply from companies who sponsor veterinary practices and universities at a very inflated price.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.
I think there is a place for feeding protein or carbs or even fats at the right timeAndy wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 8:48 am Doesn’t matter what you feed. Wouldn’t be a great deal of benefit in feeding a pea Friday morning
Not saying a good or better pigeon wouldn’t win but it’s not a benefit to it
So in my view give them the best opportunity by not feeding a pea mix Friday for example
I've heard of "Best all round", it seems to be an English thing. I'm not sure of what it means.
