We have loads here. We put a dish of rehydrated mealworms down in the courtyard of the shop 3 or 4 times a day. The starlings come in mass, adults and young, and clear the dish in minutes. They don’t mind if we are there. They make a hell of a din with the youngsters wanting to be fed. Once finished they go into the back garden and carry on there. I’ll take a couple of photos tomorrow.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.

Put some mealworms down first thing this morning. Within a couple of minutes:

Then not more than a few seconds later:

We weren’t more than a couple of feet from them.

After a few minutes:

No worms or starlings.
They’ll be back later for their next fill lol.

Birds are certainly opportunists!
We dont have many starlings, but we have a couple of dozen magpies, dozens and dozens of the little Indian lace neck doves, and now we have beautiful little native parrots since I hung a feeder in a tree.
The little parrots are green and red and yellow, and are very pretty. And hungry. They go through a fair bit of seed!
Greetings from the land down under. :D

We have loads magpies and crows here with a few tits and finches, we do see few sparrows but seem to be getting less and less along with the blackbirds, we used to have thrushes but not seen any for a while now

We do have a fair few sparrows here. Blackbirds, robins, wrens, goldfinches and tits plus the jackdaws, wood pigeons and collard doves. We rarely see a thrush nowadays nor the greenfinches or siskins.

We've got Starlings nesting in our roof, they go in under the eaves, they come back every year. We also have sparrows in our hedge, Robin's, black birds and wood pigeons. We also have Jakdaws nesting in our chimney and Crows turn up every day to batter our feeders 😬😁. Ohh yeah and all the feral pigeons lol 😂
We do also get the odd visit from goldfinches and wagtails.
Starlings are quite pretty but actually used to be a real pest on the farm as they would come in their hundreds/thousands and shit all over the cattle feed, straw bales and water troughs, and unfortunately they carry the danger of spreading coxidiousis and salmonella through their faeces.
