Moulting
Noticed a gradual increase in amount of feathers picking up when cleaning over last 3 weeks or so, have come to the conclusion that it is due to being prisoner and laying that is causing the early starts

They usually start moulting when sitting their second round of eggs. My old birds have started dropping flight feathers and the youngsters are also starting to drop feathers.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.
I always have to do some arithmetic with this.
It's the 3rd of June, so it's about three weeks from the shortest day.
That means it's about three weeks from the summer equinox up your end.

Yes you are right Muzza
Some of my old birds are on their 2nd/3rd flights while others that didn't rear any youngsters are only just dropping their first, I have a couple of late breds that have dropped their first 2 flights together. My early youngsters are also on their 3rd flights already !!
