A few local me been trining for 3 weeks
My first round are ready to train but the first race isn’t to the 27th of July so I’m holding off as once I start it’s nightly after work to they fall apart
How many trainers do you give your babies ?
I start 4/5 weeks before the first race try to go 5 times a week then 4 nights a week from race 1 to race 5 then that’s the season finished for me

I’ll start about 3 weeks before the first race. Will have around 3 tosses at 9 miles and 3 around 18 miles and that’s it for me.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.

I think I will have 65-70
Do you not train short in the week between races or with your radius I guess it’s pointless

I think bigger the radius the more they want training ,,
5 mins in wrong batch n its race over ,
Last season 9 races fed is 100 miles by 70 I was in first 8 of fed 9 weeks running ,if I had just loft flown they would of got hammered.

I’m just not one for training. By the time we start racing some of those in our club who have been training heavy have very few left. I was 2nd & 5th from the first young bird race and had the best returns in the club only dropping 1 bird. I dropped another in the second race but did lose a few in the third which was a terrible race. After that I lost hardly any before the end of the season. The ones left had all 8 young bird races.
But as you say with our combine they are going to get pulled all over the place. When I just raced in the nationals they would get half a dozen trainers before going 100+ miles and being dragged all over the country.

We have one member in our club who has had 3 tosses with his youngsters so far and been hit twice by the peregrine.

I understand m8 but I hear this weekly off flyers like it's a achievement, I got them all home ,I don't understand that there's no prizes for full returns so I can't see the big thing about full returns it's nice but racing pigeons is about racing n winning surely .
It's a nightmare here now for peregrines but these will get same treatment up at 3 30am in basket down Rd n trained .

Trouble is Andy only gets 35 mile races for old birds most weeks I guess ybs are even worse for it
The radius could be wider than the distance flown
I couldn’t be doing that
