We were racing from Brighton at the weekend along with 2 other organisations. We received a message today from the duty manager for operations side of Heathrow airport. He informed that on Saturday morning there was a bird strike on a plane coming into land at Heathrow. It appeared that the birds were racing pigeons released from Brighton. The ring numbers of 11 pigeons were posted all of which were dead. Whether other birds were caught up wasn’t known. It seems that it was a convoy of birds heading North as ours wouldn’t be going anywhere near to Heathrow. Just feel so sorry for the birds and their owners.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.

Oooh :o :o
That's not good. I wonder if there have been other cases of racing pigeons being killed by bird strike?
Greetings from the land down under. :D
