If you feed handful to 6 or 7 morning and ounce at night but include 40/50 percent barley
They should fly well in the morning and trap well to your call as Murray says

Are you feeding a bit heavy or lots of peas in your mix as that will stop them wanting to get up and fly
Depurative once a day - 15 mins then taken away. 90% of them trap on the whistle - the 10% are proving a little tricky.

I like the thought of splitting the feed. Giving them less time on the hopper then returning later. I think feed is the key I haven’t quite got right yet.
It’s a hard one to get right I had to use scales over a period of time
Although what works in one loft may not in another
I have found pigeons don’t need as much as a lot would think they require
My ybs when they come along get 7gram after there morning fly then 25 grams at night so it’s had about 14 hours to go through them by morning and I get a good fly out of them before work
I see yours are fed dupurative now I don’t feed much protein but a little wouldn’t hurt in the yb feed whilst growing even 25 per cent maybe I gradually move mine to a mix of something like 1 gerry 1 barley 1 breed and wean
In the morning you could use fat seeds to call them in as they are high protein

I found my scales when we were moving boxes out of the bedroom Devo was in. The battery is flat.
It would be. Has not been used for 10 years.
I feed my young birds with a scoop which holds a table spoon full, more or less. I have no idea what that weighs. Depending on how many there are and how well they are flying, they might get, say seven scoops. If they are being naughty and sitting in trees, they may only get 5. If they are flying hard and fast for an hour, maybe 8 scoops.
Feeding young birds is not a science, in my view. It is just something you have a feel for, or you don't.
My young stars flew 75 minutes this morning, trapped on the dime and are much happier than when I let them get away on me a few weeks ago.
Greetings from the land down under. :D

All sounds good to me Murray, I have seen the way you work with the birds mate. The nutrition side you have a great balance, and the love and care for the birds is unmatched. Well done mate.

I sent many away but I have a small team of 12 that are really pleasing me. I can fly with the Bendigo Invitation Club, although i'm so far out it would be more for fun than anything. And to test the birds a bit and see if they are as good as I might hope they are. ;)

The young stars are so fit it is scary, and there is no racing for months yet.
So they had their first toss today, from one mile. These are pigeons that range for half an hour at a time, I know, but baby steps, yea?
It was hilarious. I've got two boxes that hold nine pigeons each. Maybe ten youngsters.
I have 12 youngsters to train, so that's 6 in each box. Only there were 10 in one box and two in the other.
The big grizzle youngsters are both cocks. When I put the youngsters in the hampers to have a look the other week the grizzles just attacked the others. I had to put them in a separate box.
In the loft they are no problem at all. Everyone stays away from them and all is peaceful. They are named Reggie and Ronnie. :D
